OUR FAMILIES

PAUL & LAUREL SCHULTES

Married in 1976. We have been in the ranching industry all our lives. While raising a blended family of 6 children our adventures took us through 3 states where we bought and sold small ranches. In 1985 we made South Dakota our permanant home when we purchased Sturgis Livestock Exchange. Retiring our sale barn life in 1998 led us to trading ranches from Vale, SD and purchasing the former "Red Owl Ranch" at Howes, then in 2011 we added the former "Dreiske" ranch at Keldron, SD to our operation. In 2013 we added the former "Fogelman Ranch" at Opal, SD.

LYLE & DARCY LONG

Married in 2001. We hired Lyle to help us move from our ranch at Vale, SD to Howes in 1998. Paul saw the desire and dedication in Lyle and hired him full time. Darcy came home for a visit from school and work and after meeting Lyle they married 1 year later on the ranch. With both their passions for ranch life, they have been involved in all phases of ranch work and management working side by side. They have 10 children, 6 boys and 4 girls.
